Black inc. caad 10 needs less decal and more red trim.

Picked this bike up for a bargain price a few weeks ago.
It's a 105 groupset, which isn't awful, but the FSA chainset is a compact, and weighs a ton.
The Bianchi wheels are all really flexy, and utterly garish on such an understated frame.
The saddle is a Gobi... it's nice, but for a road bike?

Lots of work to be done here.

Thanks @D_Mars, I love the look of the Archetypes and almost went for them, but was dissuaded. I learned that the brake surface coating starts to wear through quite quickly, leaving a rim that looks pretty much like any other. This bike is going to see a lot of use in all conditions, and I'm not disciplined enough to wipe down the rims and sand down the brake pads after every ride.

I decided to swap a little aesthetics for more stiffness and a tiny bit more aero in my rim choice.

+1 on the brake surface wear - lasts about a week!

I'm going to throw a 6800 groupset on here. Stealth black frame, grey groupset and cables...
Considering using a black/red kmc chain, it's a bit pricey if I end up not liking the look. Should I do it?

@JamesNoQ - thanks. I'm mainly looking for ideas at this stage. I already have 99% of the build ready to go, I just feel like I'm missing some finishing touches.

@Howard - those are nice wheels but, and I never thought I'd say this, too much red!

3t arx team stem with the red decals.

3t finishing kit with red stripes, caleido-like bartape (but with red see-through dots as per pic), keep the saddle and you should be good :)

Hmmmm... I'm not sure you do. Reds are often hard to match so if you do need to, go for one set of stuff from one brand, such as 3T.

Otherwise anodise all the things:

My Caad10 had some small elements of red on an otherwise black build - looked great! It also had a 6870 group which compliments the rest of it being black as fuck.

Looking forward to the outcome. How are you converting to BB30?

Yeah, I was talking about the Shimano cranks, which are not BB30 compatible unless converted.

The 3t stem looks really nice! I've got a deda Zero100 that I was planning on using, possibly rubbing the decals down to black, but maybe I'll pick up one of these.

@sensom I'm going to use one of the Praxis conversion BB's, I've heard nothing but good things about them. Sounds like our bikes will end up with a similar style! How did you get your shimano cranks on?
