But did you die?
-
• #3028
No, I set club records for 15 and 30 miles TTs though. They're my go to race tyres at the moment. I might try something skinnier on the front but not sure yet.

@youramericanlover
Thanks. Are yours folding or wire beaded (and does it make any practical difference)? -
• #3032
They only do 24 and 26 versions
-
• #3033
They are folding. I'm not sure they make a wire beaded version. There are probably other more salient factors but all I can really say is that folding are usually lighter and may be a bit easier to mount?
-
• #3034
They do make a wire version, I have a bunch of them, are you sure the ones you ordered are folding? The ones in the link have the rrp for the wire bead (£25 the folding is rrp £35...)

I'm running GP4000sII with carbon clinchers from DCR wheels and actually asked the question about warnings from some tyre manufacturers. He was unaware that there was an issue and said none of his customers had ever had a problem. Maybe its more of a problem with crabon ordered direct from manufacturers... I certainly didn't notice that they were in any way sharp but it's early days yet!

The folding weigh 440g, steel bead 500g according to panaracer website. Having had both, leave the folding (aramid) to go tyre shaped for a bit, and they go on no trouble.
-
• #3038
They do make both. I can't find folders, which I want, for reasons I can't specify.

It's there to prevent liability should the tyres blow up on a carbon rims.

A bit scared to ask, but G+ for brakeless? Skiddy suicide? anyone tried it?
-
• #3046
No, too thin, unless you don't skid.

You can also get Rubinos with Graphene. They are ~22 EURO from Rose. I just don't see the magic in Graphene to suggest that anyone should pay double given that the old Rubinos can be had, for example, for £9.50 from Chain Reaction.. I'd just mount a rear brake.

Aanyone tried the Open Corsa G+ in 28c? Or have an idea of how big the come up on a 23mm rim?
Thinking of getting a set for my Talbot, as there is room at the rear, and I think there is space on the Enve fork. I've got a 25mm Veloflex master on there at the mo, and there looks like there will be room....

Not 28 but have 25mm. They came up 26.3mm on my Kinlin XC279. I think scoble has 28mm on a wide rim, he might've posted a shot of width in this thread somewhere ..
