High Rise. So try hard.>
Gave up on having a plot about a third of the way through. Style over substance, and massively dated.

watched it for the first time last night...completely underwhelming, seems to lack any chemistry or original plot that made the first trilogy so enjoyable, and the ending, really??...give yourself an uppercut JJ Abrahms

I've watched it twice, with two sets of kids... both thoroughly enjoyable.
the force is strong in our family, plenty of in jokes too.. -

yeah, I get that it's aimed at a new generation but just seemed a bit meh...
Deadpool however ticks all the boxes -

Interstellar.
I put up with it until he appeared behind the bookshelf like a space borrower.
That's two hours I'll never get back, although it did feel like I aged decades, which is maybe the point. -

Watched Palio last night, it's a documentary about a traditional horse race in Siena, Italy.
It's a bit bonkers, full of amazing characters and totally worth a watch.

Are you fucking kidding me? Another Death Star?!
-
• #12564
well technically it's the first Death Star, considering it's set before A New Hope.

I was mega disappointed with that. Literally all of the good bits were in the trailer.

Very odd - especially as we had no idea it was going on until we got there.
I got married in Tuscany last year and just happened to pick the right day / days to visit Siena.
My wife and I went to Siena the day before the race to have a look around (having no idea) and ended up eating lunch at a place right outside the chapel for the Oca house. Mid way through lunch, the place exploded with people and noise as they brought the horse into the chapel to bless it.
After that, we went into the square for look around and the procession of the houses started.
We returned for the race day. My friend who was our photographer got loads of pics but i can't find them. We hardly saw anything of the race itself as there were so many people. We would have had to get there at 6am to get a good spot.

It looks 100% exactly like the trailer for the previous painting-by-numbers exercise in this increasingly irrelevant and tired commercial exploitation of a lost franchise.
Sorry for being so negative, but I'm just really disappointed still. More was possible there but sadly it hasn't escaped modern "Disney's" corporate death throttle.

Even just reading your post I started to feel really excited, lol.
I'm definitely gonna go some time.

Also, glad to see everyone else was confused as I am about the Rogue One trailer.
Forest Whitaker looks like a great fit.

Disney are the king of monetising franchises. They bought Lucas with the intention of doing the same as Marvel and releasing a whole range of films. It's not just the money coming in from the films, it's all the extra characters and the merchandising that makes money.
purchased The Force Awakens to watch a second time, figuring I may have been harsh on it first time - nope, its totally fucking shit second time around too
