  • @amey doesn't actually go through them though, he's a hoarder. I have a 2 bike limit. I can't comment on @eyebrows, je ne sais pas.

  • That is very naughty.

  • @Dick

Have you considered having a proper bike fit done, so you then know what size bike you need - it may seem costly but to buy and sell bikes is more expensive.

  • I'm same hieght as you and I ride a 58cm

  • Like @mishmash11 said I've got a Supersix cover. Pretty sure a Cannondale dealer will be able to supply you with one.

  • No worries, i was really hoping someone would take it, it's 20 quid that I really don't have and can't afford to pay for on eBay to be honest. Oh well, my fault.

  • Yeah that's happening tonight @dancingjames - you're exactly right, it's got to the point of being silly and where I'm confused as hell. I thought I knew what size I should be riding, and now I honestly haven't got a clue.

I've been discussing with @amey for some time about the need - I felt like my Emonda was perfect fit, and need to replicate that.

  • someone plz fill me in on this bb30a shenaningance

I need some kind of expensive kogel bb to put rotors on a caad12?!

le sigh, maybe I'll just upgrade the too much otp-esque fsa rings and see where that takes me

  • the q factor is not wider than normal?

  • You'll need a new BB, yes.
    They're not super expensive.
    @Howard, fair comment.
But I'm on the home stretch to bike owning Shangri-La now....

  • It's BB30 but with a 73mm shell rather than 68mm.

To make it work they made a new hollowgram spindle that's 109mm. I think the profile of the new hollowgram crank arms has been tweaked slightly so that the q is the same as the old arms with the 104mm spindle.

If your rotors are 30mm you don't need a new BB but you will need spacers on either side of the spindle. A quick Google indicates 5.5mm on the non drive side and 11mm on the drive side.

  • Stack and Reach baby, just carry it through the other bikes.

  • That is assuming @dick has correct saddle to BB setup!

  • I'm wondering how the green spidering would look on a jet black caad... Matching crank bolts required of course.

  • (and eyebrows)

    thanks guys!

dont have the bike yet, going for a test ride next week.

I have two spare 104mm axles, has anyone tried using one on a CAAD12? Disaster results?

Is the CAAD12 BB30a? I don't think you can use the 104mm spindle in BB30a, regardless of crank arm choice.

  • The thing you need to be aware of with BB30a is that you can't run full fat converters like Praxis BB30 to 24mm, yet. You are kinda limited to BB386 cranks like FSA / Rotor / SRAM 30mm or convert to a 24mm spindle using step down adapters.

  • Anybody knows what's the thru-axle standard on cannondales ? Looking at the slate's formula axle reference it seems like it's syntace x-12 but I can't find any sure info on this.

EDIT : Slate thru-axle standard is syntace X-12 (it might help someone in the future)

  • I endorse and approve @Dick 's plans

  • Spreadsheet is up and running but yeah what DJ said.

  • Both @dick's recent builds seem to have dat pro look = huge drop, lots of seatpost showing, long stem. Most mortals don't have that type of set up.

  • I'm 198cm and the 60cm fits me nicely.

  • must resist buying @Dick 's frame purely for matching CAAD10 & Supersix combo

  • The Emonda was quite similar, just had a bit more headtube, 74cm Bb to rail, 130mm stem, comfiest bike I've ever had.

*edit - just realised I posted a picture of a trek in the Cdale thread
