This Gazelle frame has been in my collection for ages. It once started out as an ex velodrome bike (Alkmaar velodrome if I recall correct) and was labeled as a Giant. Something to to with sponsorship of the other rental bikes. It had been painted with a brush in a horrible thick white lacquer with red accents (I have some photo's of this condition floating around somewhere if interested)
I bought the bike from the local craigslist for my girlfriend at the time and when I collected the bike it became clear it wasn't a Giant but a very early Gazelle Pista (Jeeeej!) Apart from the paint it was in a superb condition so I decided to give it a proper resto. I had it resprayed in a period correct blue and got some decals for it. After a while the relationship ended and the frame set disappeared in my storage box.
Due to the need of some funds for an other project it is time to sell this baby!
Like I said, this is one of the first Gazelle frame sets. The serial number is 2274213 which dates it back to 1968. The front fork is original (stamped with nr. 213) and has a lovely double plate crown, Campy drops and some reinforcement plates on the insides of the forklegs; a feature which I haven't seen on any other Gazelle Pista's. The frame has been made from Reynolds 531 in combination with Bocama (BCM stamped) lugs. Trackends are beautifully shaped Campy ones.
As for the geo, it's a bit strange. Gazelle offered the Pista back in the 60's, but they were build when ordered, hence the non traditional, probably custom geo..

700c frame. Rear clearance is tight, the front can easily fit tires up to 28c. Maybe even bigger but I haven't tried that.
Sale is for frame set only, wheels are there to illustrate the geo and clearances.
Paint is in immaculate condition with a few tiny storage spots (see photo's) as are the decals. Right Gazelle DT logo has a small bubble but it's hardly noticeable (again, see pictures)
Frame comes with the original HT badge which I haven't fitted yet because i can't find some decent rivets (and I don't want to glue it on ;)
I'm looking for GPB300,- ex. shipping or additional payment fees.
Shipping will be something around 28 pounds to most EU countries.
Don't hesitate to ask questions, I've got some more pictures on request.
