You'll sell your two bikes, buy a do everything, then realise that it's a compromise on a dedicated road bike, and a compromise on a dedicated tourer/commuter, then you'll buy one of each and end up with three bikes, leaving the 'do everything' doing nothing instead. Then maybe buy a fixed gear pub bike, a cross bike and possibly a retro steel bike too, bringing your stable up to six.
