• I never used a solex other than a phh32 which was crap, the manifold was simesed two chokes into one port, the rubber flange plates used to flap and crack making the motor run lean, parts were bad to get even back in the late 80s, i did run a dellorto dhlb 35 on a panda 30 head which was v good but flange problems were bad again but it went well with that. I think people use samco hose type flange plates now. The single solex pbic 34 was good on single port heads.
    This was what i used on the blue 500, although i sold it with a stock weber down draft twin choke and the weber dcoe went with it. The nicest set up is a dellorto fzd which makes a single port head go well without being a pig.

  • Phh32 were improved with having the spindles replaced and the bushes that go in to the body from the spindle replaced with bearings. Found them better, well the phh35 as if I used half a fulvia carb and no need to rejet.
