  • Just picked this up tonight. Bought it mainly for the frameset so the rest of the parts will most likely be up for sale soon.
Ultegra 8 speed groupset with a 105 rear derailleur and Mavic CXP23 wheelset

Not sure what I'm going to do to it yet. Going to set it up with a SRAM groupset on the weekend and see how she feels.

  • If ever there was a stem in more need of slamming...

Maybe consider a pal taxis chainset?

  • Rad paint! I'm feeling those rims would work on a cleaner build as well.

    You're going to keep those?

  • Looks shit

  • Oh man. You outbid me by £8 but then I had no way of collecting... That frame is sex.

  • I wasn't even planning on buying it but I got a bit carried away.

  • Slam dat stem please!

  • I was quite glad when I got outbid. Definitely couldn't afford it, but that paintjob is sick. If you get bored of it in a couple of months I'd happily take the frame off you.

  • Not keeping the steerer extension unfortunately

  • Get rid of the hideous looking headset too :)

  • Caliper bolt is completely rounded off and has the worst front brake on the other side.

Looks like I'm going to get some new forks

  • Or a drill...

  • His heads inflated enough, don't let him think he's cool

  • I like topics where you restores ugly bicycles in bike porn!

  • Dremels and hacksaws before new forks

  • This could be awesome.

  • I can't believe you got Keith Harris to sign your jumper! Jel!

  • Rounded bolt = new fork! What do you do when you get a puncture, new wheel?

  • That would have been a complement in 2011

  • Bang a Torx T30 (or T35 if it's really FUBAR) in there: even if it's sacrificed, it'll be cheaper than new forks.

Or disassemble the caliper to access the mounting bolt from the front (model dependent).

  • Tried a torx and it didn't work. Took apart the caliper and cut the bolt but still no joy.
I think it's really seized in there. Not giving up though.
Just want some forks so I can ride it.

  • I probably won't be keeping the wheels.

  • Can't you drill it from the back? Your LBS should be able to to, or anyone with a pillar drill and vice.

  • Going to do that this week.
Need to find somewhere near Charlton
