It does have a few things going for it though
- it's way faster, ie. almost usable for looking/scrolling around maps
- bigger screen (see above)
- it hasn't failed in some weird way like all their other versions have... yet.
Though
- Battery life is now shit
- It basically doesn't work when it's wet, which happens a lot if you're me and ride in Great (at being damp) Britain.
- Ad hoc navigation is jokes - it literally doubles the distance that's actually required to get home some times. You KNOW something is wrong with a device when someone as inept at navigation overules the GPS and gets home in 100k instead of its 211k.

I gotta be honest, the first time I saw a 1000 I thought someone had taped their iPhone to an out front mount. That thing is way too big for most uses. I can see how it would be your best friend on a RAAM/Divide/Trans etc. though
