  • Cheers Matt was looking forward to it, one of my favourite night time routes. But probably a daft idea for me given the weekend. Next time hopefully, Thursdays work better for me than Wednesdays.

  • Cheers for the meet up info! Looking forward to this.

  • Sadly can't make it tonight, looking forward to the next one though!

  • Can make it actually! Gonna ride out, train back.

  • Cool. See you there.

  • envious - perfect weather and no school tomorrow
but I have to be in sunny catfood this evening
(and the clocks went forward, not back)

  • Well this is embarrassing. I forgot my brake fubar'd on the commute this morning. Not feeling like riding brakeless tonight even tho it is flat..would probably cause a pile up...so no TNKR for me. Have a good one..and has anyone ever heard of the cable inner coming out of the housing?? What the hell is going on there.

  • That was an absolute pleasure. Thanks for making me welcome. @youramericanlover sorry for disappearing after London Bridge. Gimme a shout about that saddle.

  • Tomorrow is gonna ache

  • Good ride but much cold - thanks @middleofnowhere for keeping the pace sensible

  • Thanks @middleofnowhere great as always. When I got home my shell jacket was sitting on the kitchen table laughing at me. And yeah @jaeyukdapbap I'll drop you a line shortly.

    Here's a pic of Clement's ass

  • Thanks Fellas for a great debut ride!!

  • Thanks everybody, I really enjoyed it!

  • The jet lag was too bad. Pretty Jealous, the weather seemed perfect. See you all soon.

  • Some weakling wattage figures here fo' yo'

  • who won the sprint?

  • There was a sprint?

  • The lead group had already been served by the time I got to the pub. I blame getting held at the red light near the start and the level crossing. Absolutely nothing to do with having the lung capacity of an octogenarian with emphysema and the physical strength of a toddler riding a rusty tricycle.

  • physical strength of a toddler riding a rusty tricycle

    See wattage figures above

  • I was backstopping but I gather there were 'shenanigans' that decided the sprint finish. Hidden motors, drugs, unscrupulous exploitation of dodgy navigation and of course...

  • After standing by the barriers as the through trains passed that pic gives me the right heeby-jeebies. Roydon, why you no footbridge?

  • Thanks for this really nice ride and crazy sprint, of course I missed the turn. Also grouping the two punctures of the ride at the same time was a nice touch.

  • Thanks all for another great ride.
Re the sprint, well I fully admit to taking advantage of numerous situations, ie, drafting the first 9 miles and keeping my garmin route info all to myself.
But drugs? Just high on life and beautiful clean Essex air. And the promise of beer.

  • I was there for the sprint. Under strict instruction from my DS I was told to not take advantage of any structural problems with the race layout (sponsors tie-in conflict) but in the end it didn't matter as it turns out half the breakaway group were feigning fatigue so by the final 500m when the three 'passengers' finally went I was cooked. One didn't have the legs to contest the final 100m - it was enough bike lengths to just say he simply rolled in for 3rd place.
