^ beat me to it. Ugly as but hopefully cheap.

And 10 speed, if 11 speed hydro find its way on bike around £1,000 at the moment, then the 10 speed one gonna be a killer destroying the TRP HY/RD.

Btw, utfs didn't turn it up and Google makes it look unlikely - post mount calipers to iso mounts? If it can be done I'll wait for the tiagras and upgrade my existing bike. If not, new frame time I guess.

Iso mounts on the frame and post mount calipers? That's like the most common adapter?

Haha sorry, I meant flat mount.
-
• #1507
Oh! Uh oh.
-
• #1508
Crazy idea.
Would an iso to post attached to a post to flat mount work? The iso to post would keep the rotor size the same as iso and then the post to flat mount adapter should do the same from post to flat with the same size rotor. That's a lot of adapters though to get a 'cleaner' looking caliper. Haha. But hydro.
So iso > post > flat

Crazy idea
I've got one but you already know ..
-
• #1510
Ha.
-
• #1511
So iso > post > flat
Yeah that's the idea I had too but thought perhaps there'd be a cleaner solution somewhere.
-
• #1512
post (bike) > flat (caliper)
That adapter does not exist (yet) so no
-
• #1513
You could change the rear caliper to a post mount ala rs785 (or a mtb shimano one).
(I would be happy to take the spare flat mount caliper off your hands :))
-
• #1514
I dont think an adaptor would work. Just thinking out loud as the flat mount system is not built to accomodate an adaptor.
That said, there could be one as you said but I believe it would mean that you will have to run a larger rotor i.e 160mm instead of 140 to accomodate the adaptor.

• #1516
wrong way :)
Thats for: flat mount (bike) > post mount (caliper)
not for: post mount (bike) > flat mount (caliper)

Better off just swapping the caliper I think. You can easily sell the caliper and allows you to fit larger discs if you want.
-
• #1518
Well, it's a problem that won't be here until June apparently. Bur thanks for the info about swapping out the calipers, sounds like the best option. Or cantis.
-
• #1519
I actually think shimano will have a post mount caliper option for the groupset as well .
-
• #1520
Ok, even better. All this is forcing me to give up my grumpy-old-man-8 & 9-speed-shimergo which is irritating but by now I suppose 10 speed is outdated enough to qualify. And I really want hydro.
-
• #1521
8/9 speed isn't outdated, and neither are 10 speed.
If you want hydro, you can just go for the HY/RD and new housing, even with Sora/Claris levers, they felt much more expensive and smoother.
-
• #1522
Yeah I know I could get the hy/rd, juintech, v-twin, parabox or hylex (+ barend shifter). But for the money, I'm hoping the tiagra levers are a better option that's all.

For your 29er?
Which one's lighter :-)

Or shinier
Tiagra Hydro
