I've been consistently surprised at the artistic nature of our themes..... when I set up the thread I was thinking (as I tend to do, I guess) about technical / simplistic concepts for the weekly theme, like 'shot with a 50mm lens' or 'portrait' or 'B+W'.

I'm so glad that you guys are more creative than me as it's driving me to shoot different stuff and think differently.

I'm glad we've not had one that's technology dependent, I like that we've had camera phone shots and DSLRs and film all mixed up together

Girl with mask.

I suppose this week I was going for something incongruous or outwith my comfort zone; I don't generally shoot a lot of portraits so in the spirit of Saul Leiter I decided to use what subject matter was at my disposal. So, this is a single shot with no flash, Nikon D700, 24-70mm. 1/40ths f4. I made the mask myself and persuaded my missus to pose with the mask on; after some wine she's generally ok with being shot.
