Well, it's not just massive prawns, you know?

Here in London I can buy packets of fresh pandan leaves in Thai supermarkets or in Chinese supermarkets, such as See Woo in Lisle Street.
-
• #23613
while you're in see woo you can stock up on frozen pork buns too. win/win

Been happy with Yak & Yeti when I've used them.
Jashan is good to eat in. I assume takeaway would also be decent.

If you can get there for lunch, http://www.lasalvaora.com/ is great - their 'Menu del Dia' is only about 13E but fantastic, best value food I've ever had, I'd say. Three courses, normally including three different small starters.
I've not eaten there in the evening, but I imagine it would be great too. I go there every time I'm in Valencia, (which is often, I'm looking to move there).

To add to this, Bread & Milk higher up on trafalgar street does very good vietnamese food.

Thanks I'll try it tomorrow evening! Anything in the Russafa neighbourhood? That's where I'm staying.

@Doctor_Cake I don't remember the name, but there is a great place that sells fish in cans. Honestly.
Edit: it's called La Conserva

I ate at La Salvaora last night, they didn't have the menu of the day, so I had the tasting menu instead, it was very good, and still excellent value (5 courses, 24 euro). The mushroom dish was really fantastic. Going to check out the tinned fish place tonight.
Ah yes, I wrote a list in a PM didn't I. One sec...
To copy and paste:
Coffee: Small Batch has taken over. There is better coffee in Brighton but it's absolutely fine and their Jubilee Street branch is big and a good base camp for a mooch. They also do nice cakes from across the road (Flour Pot bakery)
Beer: There's a new Brew Dog where the Blind Tiger (previously Hectors House) used to be. There's better beer in Brighton but it's big and comfy on a Sunday.
More food:
The Coal Shed - Decent meats and fish depending on the day. A good wine list if I recall.
The Salt Room - (from the people that brought you Coal Shed) solid fish grill place on the seafront. Very nice but a bit spenny a la carte.
Plateau - Good wine selection and various charcuterie type small plates. Can be fun on a sunny afternoon.
Nu Posto - very tasty neapolitan (sloppy) pizzas and pretty reasonable. On West Street curiously which seems to have had a bit of a reputation management in recent months (only a bit mind). Also, prosecco on tap - can't argue with that.
Fish & Liquor down by the wheel/pier which is like posh fish and chips. Nice though. (Bardsleys near The Level is reckoned to be the best 'real' chippie if you're interested).
H.en on Trafalgar Street for Kentucky Fried Conscience.
That'll do for now.
