Shit, yeah, I reckon they stickered them up incorrectly. You probably know more about BB tapers than the importer/shop does.

strong looking frame!!

remember reading on their website (they've since changed it) that they use a slightly different taper angle than ISO as suggested by @mdcc_tester.
On whose website? I've never said anything about taper angle being different between properly made JIS and ISO spindles.

It looks more like ISO than JIS (JIS doesn't have this sharper edge near the middle)
Depends on the manufacturer's method of forming the taper and on the diameter of the round part, not on whether it's JIS or ISO. The illustrations on Sheldon Brown are just samples, not indicative of a general difference between JIS and ISO axles.

Ah ok fair enough.
Either way it doesn't fecking fit. I sold it on ebay, messaged seller...as they may run into problems. If they don't want it, I'll give it a proper analysis and then we know once and for all ;)

I think it was the Token website. Afaik there is no difference in taper angle between JIS and ISO, both taper at 2 degrees relative to centreline according to Sheldon. What I meant was that Token/Tifosi ISO BB spindles have a different taper angle (not 2 degrees, I think they mentioned the angle but I cannot remember the exact number). At least that's what I remember from their website. They didn't mention anything about JIS, so I assumed that their JIS spindles had the usual taper angle and therefore seem to work fine
Edit: this is what I was referring to, see last post in this thread by a Token rep. Their ISO spindles are 1.8 degrees, their JIS spindles 2 degrees

Yep, SLR. It is comfy indeed, and the weight is ridiculous. Rear triangle feels a bit too soft for my taste, though.

I put as much force onto it as I could and so did Le Manfriend with his massive forearms, not sure where that Token rep is coming from. It really didn't fit.
Went on no bother on a Ritchey BB.

It's gone back to Wiggle, and I've gone a different route. The bastard folding bike is more trouble than it's worth. It's slowly losing value - it had paid itself off nearly, in bus/coach/train fares, but the cost of all these other parts is a right pain.
Currently I need new wheels, other drivechain parts, etc, since the old internal 3S hub isn't compatible and the ones I thought were okay off ebay turned out to be cheese.

@Lukas I was hoping but they're 1 1/8. Shim shimmeny! The reach is pretty crazy, it's going to take a fair bit of getting used to. Gonna have to find some smaller sprockets before I hit the loop too!
@pdlouche thanks! They actually don't suit the frame at all (I've just thrown them on right now) but matters might be improved with some bartape -

Some random forks and parts thrown on this so it stands but I just picked up this GT Force frame. I can't decide whether to build it up 1x10 with risers/magic gear/not bother and sell it again. I don't really like it and it's also a 58 and I prefer 56s....

Don't feel pressured into using them for the sake of it. I can always look after them for you.......

Would anyone be interested in a pair of Rotor 3df cranks with spider and chainring bolts? Brought of eBay and turns out the axle is too long for my bike. Would like back what I paid please. 70 plus 5 postage please.

Also, I recently brought a fizik curve saddle. Turns out is had oval rails, can I just use them on my normal seat post (ritchey trail wcs) and they need to be spread a mm to fit. Or shall I buy a specific post?

No, your spacers are too short :)

This post should be fine with 7×9 oval rails. It's not unusual for the rail spacing on a saddle to mismatch the rail spacing on a post by ±1mm

Rotor 30mm axles mostly come in a length to fit any shell width up to 86mm, if you have a BB30 or BBRight shell you need various extra spacers

was that on ebay? Glad it went to a good home and for a good price. Whenever nice gts come up I'm always interested, I want a mountain bike to turn into a shopper though. I could have bought that out of enthusiasm and then had nothing to do with it too!

So I bought a mini bob frame from @f1s to build up
Put most of the new headset in, offered up the bars, thanks @duckland, with some grips.
Now she's going to want two brakes but where am I going to put them? Are there any nice silver cross brake type things that would look nice? I'm sort of hoping that some combination of lever and position on the bend is going to put it magically in the right position.
Can I just cut the flanges off the grips with a razor yeah?
Bike is drilled for rear brake, what's the most reasonable way of getting it there with no braze ons? Two band on clips top of top tube?
Thanks fams
