sorry for inaccurate commentary. Short forks does make steering really twitchy. Its nice if you got high bbs. In that case it would be fun, bmx or fgfs style bike to ride. Restless in every way. Thats the way how 90s mtb geos work. Or why track bikes are fun to ride
Steep head tube angle combined with super low bottom bracket brings all the bad things from both. Your bike will be really hard to jump. Also there will be a lot of understeering with normal mtb fork. Even really small 26" mtb starts to feel really big and clumsy with that combination.
maybe some people will like it in some way.. This is just my opinion as a all time, long term bmx, mtb, track, touring bike rider and builder. Franken bike experiences are educational!
It is way better to have too long than too short fork in your mtb. I assume that that your rock lobster is made for 80-120mm suspension fork? In that point you should have at least 420mm A-C ridig fork. Non suspension corrected fork will totally made your bike horrible to ride, if the frame is made for suspension fork
