go for a test ride, set some hot laps. Plenty of rubber on the circuit.

Edit: It's a Salsa stem for anyone else wondering.

Ordered some decals from Cyclomondo. Apparently they were posted last Friday, but no sign of them yet. We're in the same country! I really wanted to put the decals on this Easter long weekend and clear coat the frame so I can build it up next weekend. Oh well.
Managed to modify the Velo Orange rack to fit by bending drilling and trimming it. I just need a longer bolt for the forks. The basket is a $9 basket from Kmart. Wald's are too expensive here.
Everything else is pretty much ready to go. Just need some brake cables and housing for the shifters and brakes and headset installed.

@Verbs_&_Nouns Let me know if you're still after a yepp mini in black, have one lying around, inc the highly recommended Cushion for when bubs passes out, pick up Adelaide CBD

The yepp, btw handles ace but will probably clash with the basket. And treadly do have awesome helmets for kids. Deffo get a nutcase one, the magnetic buckle will save you lots of tears by avoiding pinched skin when the little one wriggles.

Colour looks great, not enough green bikes around.

May hit you up for that. Still at least 5 or so months before he can be on the bike.

Cheers. So close to finishing it as well. Just waiting on the decals.

Ha! This makes me glad I've settled on green for a new paint job ...

Decals arrived today. Started sticking them on the frame and forks tonight. The frame originally had decals on the top tube, down tube, head tube, seat tube, seat stays (and possibly the forks blades). Despite getting decals cut for all of the above, I've decided to just do ST, DT, HT and fork crowns. I think it'll be overkill with all of the decals.

And done. I hate putting decals on frames. It went pretty smoothly. The P on the drive side downtube has lifted and stretched slightly, but hopefully the clear coat sorts it out. Also, because the decals are so thin, they're not a brilliant opaque white. Still look good though.
I'll take some outside in the sun photos tomorrow.

The downtube. You can just see the tiny part of the P that effed up.

Thought I was going to finish this a few weeks back, but ran in to some issues.
The bottom bracket shell had to be chased, same with the head tube. That took forever. The BB I was going to use is way too wide (in my head I thought it was 113mm, but it's not) and the other spare one I have is too narrow (110mm). The front derailleur won't shift properly with the cranks too close or too far away from the frame. Figuring out the cable routing for the front derailleur was interesting too. The headset has been installed, but is still a little loose. I need to get that tightened as well. The largest sprocket on the cassette almost hits the rear derailleur, despite them working fine on the Cannondale. Not sure if I need to move the wheel further back in the frame, adjust the B screw or shorten the chain. The driveside rear canti post is a bit bent or something, but it was a struggle to get the V brake arm on and it doesn't spring back after the brake is applied. Going to see if I can lube the post, or tighten the arm so it doesn't move and just run the brake on one side. It is the rear brake after all, and I won't be descending any hills or anything on this bike.
Anyway, new BB will hopefully be purchased today and it might be finished this weekend.

Sounds like quite a faff

Do you think you'll need 2 front rings? Is just running a small single ring an option? Even just in the short term to get it rollin ?

I bought a new BB today. Normally I'd just run a single ring, but I'd set up the shifter and cables for the front derailleur, so I really wanted to get it done properly.

Finished! Here's a teaser photo.
Will take more soon.
Just need a bell and maybe swap the tyres to Paselas or Clement MSO's.

Well I got doored on this last Friday on my way home from work. Second proper ride on it. I was actually riding to a spot to take photos. Wide bars are wide!
Anyway, bike is fine, I'm okay (some bruises and I'm a bit sore). Helmet is cracked, but the guy that doored me was extremely apologetic and has paid for the cost of replacing the helmet.
Has made me super cautious and a bit hesitant to have my son on this bike now.

@Verbs_&_Nouns Oh man, that sucks. Glad to hear you're okay. I understand your hesitation, but I wouldn't worry too much about it.
I found that my riding style and risk assessment did change very drastically once the little one was on the bike with me. All those bike ways dotted around Adelaide suddenly became a lot more important, and I found myself being ultra patient and instinctively over-compensating for the lessened handling and stopping ability. -

Hold on, so you didn't even get the photos?!
Jeeeezz....
Jk, glad you and the bike are ok.
Don't let this stop you using the bike as planned, accidents happen on bikes, in cars, on buses. Don't let an unfortunate experience affect your path!
Nothing. I just wasn't riding it. It wouldn't work as a kid carrier because the forks have been cut so the stem was slammed (plus my wife hated it). I also poached the brakes and seatpost from it for this bike.
