AIUI - PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) is the method of applying the coating.
DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) is just one of the coatings that can be applied by PVD, and is generally acknowledged to be the hardest available.

Can this be done after market? (I'm certain it can)
What is the quality like? Is it as good as the big manufacturers?

My DLC Steinhart still looks fantastic and I've worn that practically every day since it arrived... The bracelet only lasted a couple of weeks, shame they didn't put the same coating on that...
Is DLC just another name for PVD tho'?
