  • It's because he's Scottish and played for Liverpool that he's not even comparable right?

  • That and the lack of managerial honours. His brand of football as a manager was revolutionary only in the sense that it was turgid rubbish.

  • I always had the impression that Keegan was more influential than Dalglish. Perhaps not a view shared by everyone.

  • Pretty similar in terms of honours. Both won 3 European cups as a player, and a stack of league titles. Cruyff won the European Cup as a manager, but Dalglish would have done as well if his teams had played in Europe.

    Granted, Cruyff's tactics have had a more enduring legacy, but he owed a major debt himself to Rinus Michels.
