  • Not just any pub, but the Greyhound (obviously). A pub had stood on that site for 300 years -until 2012 when developers Purelake illegally knocked it down. Lewisham council took Purelake to court, where they entered a guilty plea and were fined £5,000.

    Locals campaigned to have the pub rebuilt and, amazingly, it has been - largely with original materials. The greyhound mural, designed to mimic the original pub sign and featuring pictures of locals, was commissioned to celebrate the victory. The ground floor is waiting for a new pub or restaurant to move in.
