cross posting from mechanics thread, thought a few of you may know a thing about disc brakes since we have been discussing them for the past 20 pages or so
3rd day in mallorca and I notice a slight smearing of oil next to my brake caliper.. only the 5th ride on these brakes from new so obviously gutted (and yes I paid mud dock £50/hr labour fee to bleed them). However it doesnt feel as if there is any loss of power whatsoever..
I dont want to fuck anything up but is there anything I should tighten (bleed screw..?) have left as is currently and will obviously be taking it easier on the rear brake. front brake is perfect

Got a replacement fork for the CAAD for 40 dorrar. Going to source a headset and will do the switchy-repack-returny dance if it is indeed fucked. Hopefully it won't be though and I'll have a wunderbar frame and cranks for affordable scratch. Fingers crossssseeeeddddd....

If the frame turns out to be good, that's some bargainous caad action!
-
• #4638
I hope so, although I just spent the same amount on a headset as I did on the forks : /

I don't know if this is news to anyone else, but I just saw that they're finally selling a CAAD12 frameset for rim brakes. Pre order, stock available April.
westbrookcycles.co.uk/cannondale-caad12-road-bike-frameset-2016-p298415?gclid=CM75xYus3MsCFZEK0wodrvUAQwCan anyone find anything else?

I learnt that Evans Cycles cut tie with CSG and just went straight to dealing with Cannondale USA instead.
Makes sense - in their position I'd do the same

Whoa. really? Since when?
-
• #4643
Not sure when, only been told about it last week when making queries.
-
• #4644
aside from disc issues, awesome bike. needs lighter wheels though
-
• #4645
What wheels are you currently running?
-
• #4646

Handlebar and bottle cage ID?
-
• #4647
superstar 11sp aeroroad disc wheels. 2kg

some spare alpina bottlecages I had. bars are matte graphic zipp sl70 ergos. probably could have done with bars with a shallower drop for descending but I think I will just go to a 120mm stem at some point instead

I agree and I can show you a frame cracked in 3 placed due to a head-on shock and a Fulcrum racing 7 that didn't even need truing afterward to prove it.

I really wish I'd have picked up this evans deal now...
I mostly forget all about it, until somebody mentions wanting something in 54cm :-/
