I didn't notice any problems with it. Riding the Amstel Gold route a few months ago. But if I understand you and if you're right, the (theoretical) problem can be solved by using a Shimano cassette (not sure what is on it now)
Bike is frequently used and kept up to date and served / replaced a part when needed. One example is the new FSA axle from titanium.
First owner, bought it around 2000/2001/2002, not sure. Saw it hanging a bike shop and felt in love immediately. Great bike, but I want to go back to steel. When it comes to weight, this alu bike is lighter and maybe better suited for climbing. Bike did well in the Alpes :)
