  • Plenty - talk to me, talk to me...

Arabs and Chinese people are almost always the purchasers of anything limited - regardless of how unaesthetic western eyes might find it.

  • Really not a fan of the branding inside the Rolex bezel.

It is like a pair of Calvin Klein underpants.

  • I know a man - what's in it for me?

  • Let me agonise for a few hours. Not likely though, in the process of buying a house.

  • Might pull out of house and buy a Daytona

  • Sploosh

  • the max bill has to be acrylic to achieve such a dome and it's really nice anyway, i have a lot of sapphire watches and they're not as impressive as a beautiful curve imho (i have domed sapphire ones too)

  • drop me a line, dude.

  • i also may need your assistance for a mate's dad looking for a dino

  • You just don't notice it at all on the wrist though.

  • Love my Chronoscope, Not sure why anyone would get rid! Might start a sanctuary...

  • New ceramic Daytona is definitely a step in the right direction but I still find it very fussy looking. The hour markers are a bit mad. I like the slimmer bezel on these old ones:

  • That black bay. Nice though it is, it's PVD. It will not stay looking nice for long. Any reason they don't just powder coat these things?

  • Powder coat's much thicker.

  • And stronger. I can't believe they're still pushing PVD...

  • Powder coat a Black Bay and it's going to end up looking like one of these (probably worse):

  • My DLC Steinhart still looks fantastic and I've worn that practically every day since it arrived... The bracelet only lasted a couple of weeks, shame they didn't put the same coating on that...

Is DLC just another name for PVD tho'?

  • AIUI - PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) is the method of applying the coating.

DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) is just one of the coatings that can be applied by PVD, and is generally acknowledged to be the hardest available.

  • Daytona

It's a nice looking watch, but the hype is a bit lost on me. I don't really see why it's so revered.

  • I'm not into chronographs so don't get the Daytona appeal either. It's arguably the most dressy Rolex sports watch though which might account for it's popularity.

  • You barely notice it when you're wearing them. There's a serial number engraved at 6 o'clock.

  • If it was on the case back maybe...really detracts from modern Rolex imo. Marketing need firing.

  • On the contrary, I like that the caseback is completely blank.

  • Im novice when it comes to watches, looking to treat myself to one. Im no where in the league of some of the budgets on here looking at £200 - £250. I Like the military styles but open to other suggestions, can anyone point me in the right direction. Looking on Ebay and such its a minefield of duff knock offs.

  • Just get a seiko skx and then go from there, its the perfect first automatic.
