This is an interesting thread. I'm looking to be part of the exodus to (probably) Bristol in the next year or so. Lived in London 11 years now, and want to own a house, ideally with 5 sheds (bike shed, brew shed, garden shed, my shed, misc shed).
London's awesome. I just don't want to burn through money forever. Bristol could be awesome-er. Have mates in Bristol, and lived in the West Country for 5 years.
Mildly worried about not having a job/ever getting a well paid job again, but having minimal mortgage will make that less of a worry.
