Valleycat is a cross breed of the Alleycat and the traditional Brevet. A long distance self guided ride over one or more days collecting images at strategically placed passive controls. Controls are only announced at the start of the event and riders must plot their own routes to them.
In Valleycat 2, the cat comes back; longer, steeper and deeper...
LONGER
Multiple controls locations across Mid Wales will be released on Friday Evening. Riders can choose; Get out there and burn the midnight oil or formulate a plan, get some shut eye and attack the beast at first light.
Ride alone or with friends. Its not a race, its a game.
Find the clocks and collect as many controls as possible. Minimum distances for all controls are likely to be in the range 350-400km so that's two big days out or one huge one.
STEEPER
Plot a straight route cross country in Wales and you'll be guaranteed to find some hard gradients. Around here you will find some of the most brutal in the country.
Controls may be placed so the quickest line will incur some effort but the route around could be costly.
Watch out also for the adventure lines, taking to the dirt could save you some miles.
DEEPER
ValleyCat No.2 will take you deeper in to Mid Wales to a place where vowels are an endangered species.
HQ for the weekend will be Tymawr (GR: SN 75742 79124), a traditional Welsh hill sheep farm.
Entry (£48) includes 2 nights camping and a meal voucher.
AFTERCAT
Camping and some basic nutrition are included and local ales will be on hand to help you start the recovery process. Signiture Eco Tees also available.
