Vittoria G+ Competition Corsa tubs

  • Thinking of going tubular and just wanted to see what people's thoughts were on them...
Are they that much more puncture resistant?
Is the valve core removable? I know Vittoria tubs haven't been in the past.
    Are they worth the $$$?

  • as with all punctures, its a certain amount of luck...a rider out on my club run had a G+ one blow out through the sidewall the other day. Maybe just a feak occurence but 2 riders i know have had a few puctures on the clincher versions (not pinch flats) so i think the answer is that it doesnt really protect a significant amount more to justify the claims. . Ive always found vittoria valve cores quite reliable , i ran vittoria olypionico with a plastic extension and the core in its original position left open. That tub must be around 10-15 years old and i hardly ever had to pump it up and was finally retired due to perishing tread.

  • morning, thanks for replying.

Do you know if the valve core is removable so that you can add sealant? I haven't heard good things about Vittoria's pitstop..
