Also will nail polish remover be ok to take of sticky residue from a plastic bezel? Or might it damage the plastic?
Depends on the plastic - acetone (nail varnish remover) can easily soften some plastics. IPA (isopropyl alcohol, rubbing alcohol) is a good solvent but much less likely to attack the plastic, I'd suggest that instead.
So in the home could I use vinegar or cheap vodka?
