  • And the rest of us can make sure we give people enough room to manouevre when overtaking.

  • Nah, just hold your line and let them bounce off you, back where they came from.

    #hipscrittips

  • actually last night's commute, but my irony meter nearly exploded when a courier yelled 'oi! be careful!' at a pedestrian who crossed on amber, while listening to music on his headphones, and just after overtaking on old st in the opposite lane

  • Tell me about it. :)

    It isn't that easy, though.

  • Almost taken out by a scaffold truck who changed lane and pulled left into the bus lane as a police went to pass, not just me was a car too so many horns slammed still was very close.

    1/10 dislike

  • You should all move to Nottingham. Its fucking great.

Tried that for six years. It's rubbish.

  • Crazy busy on the CS7 this morning.

Should have got out of bed earlier.

    4/10

  • @eyebrows
    Tramlines of death though.

  • Had a guy on a red cannondale saeco thing repeatedly come and sit ahead of me and to my right at traffic lights, then slowly pull away and towards the kerb, as I was trying to accelerate away from the lights in a straight line next to him. If you're fucking slow, just wait behind when you get to the lights behind me.

  • Cyclist up rear wheel, bus turning left and I can't quite see if the other lane is free for me to turn right q honking, and people sitting in green box leaving me no space. I just stood and put bike to side, and only moved into ped crossing space one ped light went red...

    Yep it's Monday...

  • First ride in a while. Made a few dodgy decisions about gaps.

    Could do better / 10

  • ^ filling out a bit are we?

  • Don't listen to eyebrows.
Nottingham is, has been and probably always will be, full of shit.

Derby, however, is full of sheep.

  • Managed to clip my saddle bag with my leg whilst trying to mount my bike today, which resulted in me rather pathetically half falling over in the street. There's a school at the top of the road, so tons of parents and kids about but no one seemed to find it even slightly funny.

  • Working from home this morning and cycled in this lunchtime with Mrs. Bleach.

It's interesting* to see the different types of road user at different times of day, where's busy and not busy etc.

*not in any way interesting to anyone except me

  • Waiting at the traffic lights next to KGX this morning, in the ASL box along with a few other people on bikes. The ASL box is far from full. A lady wanders along with her bike from the square outside KGX, and plonks her Horrible Hybrid with gel seat cover abomination in front of the ASL at a 45 degree angle pointing towards the right. When the lights change, she slowly mounts the bike, has a big wobble, and then decides to turn left vvvverrrrryyyyy sssslllllooowwwwlllyyyy in front of all the cyclists she's been holding up while displaying her ineptitude. Very odd.

  • Was glad to see cycle-copper™ pulling over and ticketing a moped rider for being in the asl and blocking the exit from the gap between two buses at Trafalgar Square. Several times on my ride home I'd signal to move out into the lane as there were parked cars or other obstructions and with a gap for me to move into, the car behind would accelerate to get past me before I could move in front of them. Really annoying as they pass too close and at speed and force me to slow or hit the obstruction. Just today though...

  • If anyone finds a lenzyne rear light on their way home between (probably) London Bridge - Union Street - Oval give me a pm. Fell off, v annoying. Will still be flashing if not run over.

  • "...Fell off, v annoying. Will still be flashing if not run over..."

Odd response to coming off your bike, but each to their own.

  • All the showers at work taken up by the part time cyclists, I almost hope it starts raining again.

  • All the showers at work taken up by the part time cyclists, I almost hope it starts raining again.

I'll take "Things cyclists say to avoid being happy about the good weather" for 800 please Alex.

  • Your right it was a lovely morning and rains shit.

  • Might be time to take the skull cap off, rather warm. 7/10

  • Is there such a thing as ASL etiquette?

I tend to let the person who is in there first set off, but on several occasions I've had people squeeze in left (i am in the middle, cos cars...) and then set off when it's still red (ped green...sigh) or just set off and I'm not sure where they're going either as there's no indication given, so should I step on it and overtake or is that rude again?

Maybe a first person there goes first, indicate for the others and say hi to the fellow pushbikers won't go amiss? (hah I could start a trend :P)

(well...that may work with the 3 at a time in Belfast in London you probably get 10 in one ASL...Q much pushing and shoving?)

  • 2 incredibly near misses this morning in under 10 mins, I'm really fucking sick of getting on a bike between 8-9:30 am.
