Sound about right, you're pretty light, just keep dropping till it start to feel smooth but not squirmy.
Then put 650b on it.

Gone back to the Gravel kings, punctured a Pave last night, piece of gravel straight through, obviously Cheshire is tougher than Paris Roubaix.

Just Cheshires back lanes, not actual bona fide gravel riding. Think it was just bad luck, but that new tyre feeling has been tampered a little. Will run the gravel kings til they die, repair the hole in the open paves and then put em back on.

Butchered a SKS chromoplastic to fit the rear yesterday, there is a small hole in the back of the fork crown, anybody know if this is threaded and if so what size bolt?

Can't say about the giant but probably will be the same. Try a bottle cage bolt or SKS own fittings

Just had a proper look, definitely threaded. Will take it to lbs next week and get the thread tapped/cleaned, then butcher the front chromoplastic to fit.

Ok, I have a weird noise whilst riding, sounds like a stone stuck in the tyre, ie the faster I go the rhythm of the noise picks up. I have checked the discs/pads, changed the tyres, stopped pedalling (noise still there), inverted bike and spun wheels ( noise not there), so it's only happening when wheels are under load, ie my weight. Any clues folks?

That'd be my first port of call.
Calipers might need repositioned, best to put your phone with a white background underneath the calipers to check clearance, then try and ride it with the cable slacken a lots (or pads further away from the rotor) to see if the noise gone.

Will do. Sounds like it's coming from the front, where there is plenty of clearance between pads and rotor. Maybe due to the boxy ali frame the sound is being amplified from the rear?

Did wonder about that. If adjusting pads doesn't cure it, I'll whip it to lbs, get them have a look at the wheels, was considering upgrading them anyway, fairly hefty units that they are. May just buy some nice widish rims and get em laced to the Giant hubs, as they spin very nicely.

This actually a keys issues with the TRP Spyres being so wide that it can come in contact with spokes.

Spoken with lbs, they reckon it sounds like spokes, gonna have a look for me this week. Then gonna book the wheels in for a respoking, the black spokes n nipples on there lookin fookin tatty after a winter of heavily salted Cheshire roads.
Yeah, gone 70/80. Will give that a go for now.
