oversize threaded peugeot mtb

I recently bought a 531 Magnum tubed Peugeot mountain bike.

The forks are threaded 1 1/8, does that mean the headtube will be easy to convert to a threadless headset and forks?

Head tube yes,

Forks no. Doesn't mean it can't be done but it's not easy. New forks probably the easiest.

Thanks, was a badly phrased question. The threaded forks are going. Was just asking that if headset is 1 1/8 threaded there should be space for 1 1/8 threadless too. Seems to be OK but reassurance is always nice!
