There is nothing uncomfortable about a stem longer dan 80mm. Almost everybody rides a stem longer than 80mm and isn't 'uncomfortable'. Wether your bike is set up/fitted correctly (partly) determines how comfortable it is.
Also, HHSB law prescribes for extra slave points you need at least 120/130mm of stem.
