I picked up a Compact Pro last week and got it on the road today. Still very much a messy mix of parts but I'm slowly switching out what it came with for Record. Started with the low hanging fruit, the brakes and cranks have been switched in.
Gonna now ride it a little before deciding on which route to take next - the main sticking point is this non-Gios fork.
Do I try and get the original fork first (Gios Team fork I believe is the one I'm looking for) then switch the cockpit entirely before switching the drive train over to Record?
Or I could just chop down the current fork to a sensible length immediately, put a nicer bar/stem combination (thinking -17 degree nitto stem to Deda Piega) and then do the switch to Record straight away.
Or alternately get a Mizuno Gios carbon fork. Not entirely sold on that last option but it could look ok with some matching carbon rims, rear derailleurs and shifters, that would be the most bling setup.
Where would be my best bet for a new Gios fork, contact giostorina.it, or try to find a shop able to get stuff from one of the gios.it distributors?
