• Surly Steamroller - 56cm complete bike, except wheels...or maybe with wheels, we'll see.

Had a bunch of components lying around a month or two back - some nearly new - and decided to pick up a frame, build it up and see if I used it much. I haven't, as I live the other side of Crystal Palace and there's a big hill between me and everything but Croydon.

Selling, ideally for what I paid for everything, or a bit less. Ideally I'd like to keep the wheels, as they're handy training wheels. So maybe £250 without wheels, £375 with. Donation to forum will come from this.

F+F: Surly Steamroller 56cm bought from JW on the form in Jan.
    Geometry here: http://surlybikes.com/bikes/steamroller/geometry

    Everything else:
Cinelli Lola Cowhorn Handlebar Black One Size - v.good condition
Supacaz Black SUPER STICKY KUSH Bar Tape - scuffed from wheeling the bike out the side gate
KMC B1 Chain for Single Speed Bikes Silver (1/8) - v.good condition
Cinelli Ant Black Stem Black 060mm - v.good condition
Cinelli Vai XL Seat Post Black 27.2mm - v.good condition
    Miche Fixed Track Sprocket Grey 18T x 1/8" - v.good condition
    LifeLine 13t - 20t Fixed Gear Track Sprocket 1/8" Silver 19T - v.good condition
Shimano R451 Brake Calipers 57mm Drop Front Black (cannondale lever I think) - v.good condition
Crankset is from a Felt TK3 - not sure if it's manufactured by them. Cranks are 167.5mm I think.
Miche Advance Chainring 46T - bit of wear, but fine
Fizik Arione WingFlex saddle (slight scuff from when I hit the deck one icy morning previous winter, not on this frame btw)
Wheelset: Felt TkR2, sealed cartridge bearing, 28H, double-threaded fixed / fixed.
Pedals: None...or might be able to find some flats somewhere.
Tyres: Not the GP4000s pictured, but can put on some gatorskins or giant sr2s of similar.

I think that's it. Any questions, ask away. Based in SE London, as mentioned, at HHV a lot and happy to pop up to London Bridge/East London Line for sale.

  • interested in f&f if split

  • Thanks Sam. I'll see how it goes...

  • What's the clearance / what is the fattest tyre the frame with take
    thanks

  • "We sell it as a frame and fork. Use a track crank or a road crank. It’s got room for tires up to about 38mm because big tires roll fast and absorb all kinds of road static, from pea gravel to cracks to cobble stones. We gave it a standard 1-1/8˝ threadless straight steer tube, one set of water bottle cage bosses, and rear-loading horizontal dropouts. The bottom bracket shell is standard English-threaded. Although it is designed as a fixed-gear, we gave it accommodations for rim brakes front and rear should you decide a freewheeling singlespeed is more your style."

  • Pic of clearance Swampie...

  • Beautiful bike. Thankfully too small for me so I'm not tempted. Glws

  • Wish I weren't skint, well nice

  • Cheers for pic
tempted but the Mrs will kill me if she sees another come thro the door

  • Side gate and straight through to the shed every time...

  • Love my Steamroller. Its the kind of frame once you have it, you will always find a use for. Mines currently in fg winter trainer mode but would be great as a posh beater/ fg/ss tourer, commuter hack etc.

  • Tried that she finds them when uses the tumble dryer
hid the last one in the van

  • Lovely! You should sell this no problem, but i'll take the brake if you split.

  • Expressing interest in the frameset if you decide to split.

  • Sold, pending payment.
