While, as I said above, I think it's a 'design' that's beyond awful, as a reaction to these two deaths all this is really a little premature. There's no real evidence as yet about how the junction(s) will perform over the longer term. I wish we didn't have to try it this way, of course.
This location is so high-pressure that there's even a group that wants pedestrian underpasses back.
