For Sale: Sidi Dragon 2 Carbon SRS size 45.5

Posted on
  • Pair Sidi Dragon 2 Carbon SRS MTB Cycling Shoes, 2010 model, in size 45.5.

Two months old but 6 hours or less of use. Hence only minor scuffs and signs of use on soles, and very little wear to the soft and quite grippy (replaceable) rubber. Uppers are pristine apart from a few cosmetic scratches to toecaps (the worst of these is pictured). Never ridden in rain or mud, nor had a chance to become soiled, as they've sat in their box for the last 5 or 6 weeks - all I've done is wipe them off with a damp cloth for the photos.

Currently selling at a discounted £248 at Wiggle, though size 45.5 is showing as out of stock (there was no one besides Wiggle doing half sizes at the time of buying). This scarcely-used pair can be yours for £SOLD + postage, or you can inspect & collect from SW7. 5% of proceeds will be donated to LFGSS.

PS. I don't think I'll ever find the time or opportunity to wear these in for a more comfortable fit, as for me they're 'weekend specials', not commuting shoes. That is if they even can be worn in, being Lorica, not leather. I've learned to my cost that you can't really tell if cycling shoes will fit as well on the bike as they do when you're just standing in them. Be sure you know this is the size you want!

  • damn.

  • Price drop bump.

  • are these sold?

  • What he said ^

  • Still unsold, still in the same condition, sitting in their box pining for the day they'll see sunlight again.

  • what size does this equate to? interested...

  • lorica does wear in and stretch a bit.

  • awaiting a response...

  • For me they were a bit too tight but definitely too long. Perhaps I should have gone for a 45, and let the width wear in. I've made do with cheaper shoes since!

Not sure how they equate to other brands...

  • And in a regular common or garden shoe, you would take a size ____________ ?

I'm usually an 11 and would like to know if these would be suitable. I know with Specialized people usually go a size up, but I've never had SIDIs.

  • These shoes are excellent- I always had S-Works before I swapped to the Dragons, and the comparison was night and day.

I have 9-9.5 feet depending on the shoe, and wear a 44 Dragon.

  • Dragon 2s are awesome... My patent red ones were £190 brand new, I'd nab these if they were going for a bit less... My old Sidi Blazes are dying and I need some black shoes...

  • In Campers, Brashers (casual shoe brands I use) and Asics sports shoes size 45 fits me fine. WIth Shimano cycling shoes I needed 46.

But to avoid repeating the buyer's remorse I experienced in spades with this purchase, I went to Condor, tried on shoes recommended by the salesman for someone with wide feet, disregarding brand name and appearance, and cycled off happily in Northwaves (size 45). A much wider shoe than others at that size, and nothing like as light or as solid an attachment to the pedal as the Sidis (which technically are superb), but at least now I don't think about or notice the fit while cycling.

So as I warned in my original post - Be sure you know this is the size you want!

  • As a side note, Sidi road shoes are considerably smaller (narrower, specifically) than the MTB shoe that is technically the same size

    Really?
not my experience, I now exclusively use Sidi and switch between road and MTB all the time, I found mine identical!

  • lots of people have told me that you have to size up to get the right size in the sidi mtb shoes, dominators specifically. these fools be trippin?

  • true, if normaly you are a 45, you will have to buy a 46

  • ah, thanks.

  • Are they sold ?

  • Yes.
