A mate of mine has the new Planet X TOR track frame and has measured the geometery and it turns out it (or his size is) the same as the Cervelo that team GB now uses.
Quality and stiffness will be pro rater for the price.
There are riders riding these frames in the Revolution series and doing OK
If you have the very best wheels you will crave the frame and all the other bits to match it, so keep the bike as a whole a price/quality matched set if you see what I mean. Unless you are planning on continual upgrades for ever and a day, or until you run out of money.
Enjoy whatever you get.

The px frames aren't very stiff around tge bb. You might be better off with a good quality alu frame and deep section tubs.

I would back that advice and I found that carbon frame are often twitchy handling vs a good alu frame.

I hadn't heard that said about PX frames but I don't feel that I get a great response from my PX frame considering my massively powerful input ; )
I'm on the heavy side (85kg+) and pretty strong.
Any recommendations for a <£500 stiff track frame upgrade ?
Any thoughts on Cinelli Vigorelli frames ?

Depends on the Carbon frame. DF3 is the stiffest thing I've ever ridden.

Apparently they're quite stiff - but the geometry never worked for me (too much headtube). If they work for you fit- wise it's a decent choice.
My old Giant Omnium was stiffer than my PX was.

Legend has it that they are stuffed with newpaper...

Does anyone know where I can find the geometry chart for the PX T.O.R. frame? PX no longer shows it and even on the PX USA site there is no geometry chart.

Well dan at least they are not stuffed with that old recycled paper!
I have a DF3 and used to ride the PX Pro Track but could not get on with it as the front-centre measurement was too short for me having quite a forward body position. I prefer a more relaxed head angle and a steeper seat angle with a long TT for my height.
I actually really liked the frame and my guilty confession is that it looked pretty nice to my eyes... anyway. I never noticed the lack of stiffness that some can feel, I always notice flex in the handlebars/stem much more than the BB. Handlebar flex always annoys me and I have rode for years with the very stiffest combo I could find which I can pull on hard without trepidation.
In the end I did not feel the need to dislike the PX Pro Track and it was just the geometry that was the killer for me and the current owner of my old PX is very happy!
Thinking about track cycling once my cx season is finished (sick of cleaning bikes)☺
Anyway...is the planet x bike, deep sections and tubs a good bet? It's 1k
Or am I better with a cheaper ali frame and blow the rest on wheels?
I first thought a pre cursa with some good wheels and tubs. Then if I really took to it think about fancy frames in the future?
Already got skinsuits, decent lid and shoes
Any advice most welcome
