I'm a bit annoyed that instead of sticking to a quite rigorous process of asking questions and focusing on common movements I jumped on what I thought looked best.
There's a rotor for a slightly different 39 jewel 22.19 on eBay that I was wondering about pre-emptively buying just in case.

At least it wasn't too expensive. Maybe get an estimate. Watchguy.co.uk could be a good option.
If it looks like it's going to be uneconomical, then return it on the grounds that the seller said:
in working order and keeping good time. I have time checked it over 24 hours and it was less than 2 minutes out..

Regarding the work done on the rotor, I'd be slightly concerned about what else might lurk beneath. There are watchmakers who would be willing to work on it, but just be careful that it doesn't end up being a money pit.
