I'm big but run my bars pretty close now (had to because I kept bending stuff at wider positions). Is it always fat bastard = Open suit?
In real terms though what sort of benefits are we talking for another £300? Or should I skip that option, see you again and get a custom CFD suit? I only need to knock another minute off my 10 PB and I'll be done with this TT arms race.
After all the testing we found that you needed to have individualised locations for ATS placement on suits - that's why there are Open and Closed designs for the suits. The differences are explained on the website:

The Open design is the safer option (Closed will work up to ~18cm pad width) so that's why we recommend closed up to 16cm and Open for above that. Personally I have my pads very narrow but I'm big so need to have an Open suit. CFD suits are even more aero as everything is personalised.
The stripey fabric is a scattergun approach if you don't know exactly where to put the trips. We know where to put them.
