Given that the typical CTC off-road touring types like Rigida Sputniks on XT hubs, which will add up to about 2.4kg for a pair of wheels, I doubt that anybody is going to pick up your bike outside the cafe and do comedy weightlifter gurning.

Because it isn't. They're unlikely to be as much as a pound heavier than the lightest wheels you'd want to be off-road touring on.
