I had one of these - it made some creaking noises that slowly got worse. I should have taken proper notice when the squeaking noises stopped about a week before the downtube neatly popped out of the bottom bracket lug and I had to use my knees and elbows as well as the back of a bus to aid with stopping. Whilst I still have the scars, I'd have another one...
