Went on the hunt for a pair of lightweight synthetic soled shoe-a-likes to wear on the bike, and not look too messy after locking up. Pretty much failed, admitted defeat for the day. Not quite what I wanted, but I grabbed a pair of these in black for £23 in the local outlet.

Even if they're no good for the bike, they feel totally okay for messing about in, when I don't want to wear the leather soled stuff.
