  • Who's doing the LOL tomorrow?

  • Is it possible to turn up and pay on the day? Not fussed about AUK points etc.

  • I had it down but no chance after yesterday's HP200 or in my case the HP360.

  • For the LOL or in general? I entered on the line for the HP200 but I think it depends on the organiser.

  • LOL I meant. Anyway, have skipped it. Nice day for it though.

  • Rode the Dark Peak Grimpeur yesterday to use up the perm cards I've collected over the last couple of years (and get used to riding the bike up hills with a bit of stuff strapped to it...). Marple > Holme Moss was pretty straight forward, still snow on the tops and the early cloud made for a chilly descent into Holmfirth.

The next stage runs over to Edale, decided to stop half way for a late breakfast/early lunch. Called in at The Bank View Cafe in Langsett. Made it just in time it seems as two large club rides turned up just after ordering, finished my brew and beans on toast before their food even started to come out. Sun was out by this point so removed a few layers before climbing through Midhope and onto Mortimer Road. Most of this section has been recently resurfaced (although the unfinished gravel section part way down a 25% descent made me glad for disc brakes and fat tyres...), looking forward to riding it again when it's all done!

Stopped at the Penny Pot cafe in Edale for a stamp, topped up bottles and then it was just a case of climbing Mam Tor before a fast, sunny descent (mostly...) back to Marple.

  • Looks very different to the spectacular weather we were treated to on LOL.

  • I say spectacular. What I really mean is above average.

  • I was pretty broken on Sunday from the HP200 and some damage in the gym on Thursday so I didn't even touch the bike. Went to a local brewery instead and sat in the sun. Lovely. :)

  • Hah, nice. I ended up riding out to Essex, having a couple of pints in the sunshine and riding back. Nice leisurely spin...

  • Point being I am very happy that I completed an audax, the rather hilly AWE after breaking acetabulum half a year ago.

  • Impenetrable as ever, but well done.

  • Good day out on the Dean yesterday. Fifth time i've done it and still just about my favourite ride in the south of England.

A bit chilly but only mild drizzle. Made the surface a bit greasy. I lost my back wheel for a second on a roundabout but stayed on. Later heard that one guy did come off there and at least two others elsewhere.

My power was down from last year but I was round an hour quicker! Could be the new aerobars I put on the other week. Can't think what else it could be. Whatever, it was great to see the last section into Oxford in daylight for the first time.

  • Seemed like really nice weather yesterday - I don't recall any rain, closer to London at least.

Didn't even make it an hour into my ride before bike self-destructed and I called the GF Taxi Service.

  • Reminder that there's an Audax "gathering" (and not the avoiding eye contact in a village hall type) in Wimbledon (the Wibbas Down Inn 'Spoons) tonight from 8pm-ish.

  • Does the beard judging happen before or after the Sandal-Off?

  • It was last night wasn't it! I forgot to go...

  • @mustardbeak stop drinking now!

  • Hick. Winter training is over rated.

  • Anyone else did the arrow?

  • Anyone Sharking in a couple weeks?

  • Lol on the train now, with train beers.....
