For Sale: Chas Roberts Track frame & Forks 21" top tube (53.34cm) Black and Chrome

I've decided not to go ahead with this build as its going to be too small for me and don't want to get too attached.

It was a recent eBay purchase and I've just had a new headset put onto it by cycle PS.

a Chas Roberts single speed/fixed/track frame in black with chromed forks and seat stays, Campag track dropouts and comes complete with Campagnolo seat post bolt

In black and unsure of tubing but it is light!

The forks and rear bridge are drilled for brakes.

The paintwork is not immaculate- a few scratches and the chrome is a little speckled- but it looks great.

Up to 1984 frame numbers were not 6 digits and to the best of my knowledge (and a visit to CR archives online) this batch was late 1970s; the frame has 595 stamped on the BB shell.

The seat tube is 22" C to C and top tube is 21" C to C. Headtube is 5.5" to inside of cups. There are 2 bottle cage bolts and brake cable guides running under the seat tube.

OK, reduction and bump - £285 - c'mon people, cracking frame for someone in the 5'7" to 5'9"

Such a good frame. Fixed with mudguards - if only it wasn't too small for me too.

I am interested...is the seatpost 27.2mm?

I'm not 100% sure, I'll see if I've an old post I can use as a gauge to check.

A frame similar to this was purchased on 19 March 1976......which is 40 years ..tomorrow!....cost....£97!...which might not sound a lot but average wage before tax was £3640 in 2016 it is £27,600.....so might not much in it depending on the price of a 'new frame'.
