I've never tried the Edelux II, but as far as I know Supernova Triple is the brightest dynamo-powered front light. And it's pretty design too.

Have rated the luxos pretty volubly on here, but I have to eat my hat: the plasticky casing has really pissed me off now. It rattles. In a squeaky subtle tiny way, but it's bloody there.
And yes the beam is very clearly delineated as in that picture. I have no problem with this, as it means I know I'm not dazzling anyone which I think is bloody out of order.

I have the triple 2 and Edelux II
For road only I use the Edelux II, it throws the light down the road better and has more options for the rear light.
For anything that involves even the smallest amount of off road I use the triple 2. It is a lot brighter but because it doesn't throw the light down in a graduated way, you do get a lot of light bouncing back from near objects which actually makes seeing the road surface in the distance harder. You can however see everything in front of you very well, not just the stuff below waist height.
The Edelux II is easier to install than the triple II with more flexible cables and it has a better stand light. It has a light sensor mode but once you go the dyno route you will soon be an always on advocate.

The other issue with the Supernova is the flickering and then no light output at slow speed. It dies and switches to stand light at about 5 mph, which can be a pain in very tricky slow speed stuff off road, but also when coming up to stop somewhere unlit, the light dies just as you are looking to park up! My schmidt edelux combo stays on till completely stationary.

So... This happened. The cable to USB broke just at the exit of handlebar box (B&M Luxos U).
I haven't been able to open the box yet. Does anyone knows how to operate ?

The box on mine appears to be glued together, which is why i didnt try and open it.
Speak to the retailer or distro.

That's what I was afraid of...
Will see what the retailer has to say. -

If you don't have any luck with them, try B&M direct, they've been really good on service in the past for me.

Question for those who have a Supernova E3 Triple...
I've seen this pictures in the pretoriusbikes instagram, they drilled the middle tab of a GoPro bracket, and a little on the inside of the two remaining to be able to mount a Supernova Triple there.
I was thinking about doing the same but... how much heat does the Supernova Triple normally release? I'm worried about the Garmin that should be few inches above it, because my 810 when it gets above 40ºC (104ºF) it just turns off (pretty common in Spain's summer during central hours) and maybe the light can get even hotter

That looks neat. I wonder whether it helps that you are more likely to be using the supernova after dark and mostly while on the move. I owned an E3 briefly and it kept itself cool enough in London. And the heat from my Cyo is barely perceptible - you can tell it is warmer than ambient when it has been running for a while in warm weather but I would be surprised if it affected a nearby Garmin at all.

Where did someone here post that one of the Supernovas isn't compatible with the B&M Topline Brake? I'm assuming it's the totally bonkers bright offroad E3 Triple 2.
EDIT nope I just saw on the Rosebikes page for the E3 Pro2. Damn. Guess I'll have to buy a new basic Topline.
My B&M Luxos U has just gone bonkers, I think due to water* getting in there. I'm going to get a replacement, but I'd rather buy one that works better.
Money down the fucking tubes.
*only sodding rain. Not submerged in a ford. Or fjord.

OK so it seems I have to buy a Schmidt or B&M or just switch back lights. Wonder why Supernovas don't work with them.

Supernova provides DC power to the rear, everyone else provides AC power. My basic knowledge suggests that it might still work, it just makes the AC/DC bridge on the rear light input redundant.

I keep meaning to try it out but haven't bothered to make up a rear cable.

Hmmm, sort of feel like it's only a matter of time before my luxus u packs it in...

Hi. New job means a new lengthy commute on unlit country roads so I'm planning to add a dynamo light to my setup. I have no experience with dynamo lighting. My current plan is:
SP SV-9, or 8
Supernova E3 Pro 2 front light
Supernova E3 tail lightIs this reasonable? Will the SV-9 power both lights?
I notice the Supernova E3 Pro 2 can be had for £65 with 'no rear wire' or for £140; is there a way to wire up the rear using the cheaper version and save £75? Would I need anything extra to connect the light to the dynamo?
Can I mount this light with normal calliper brakes?
cheers

seems like a good price - I have heard good things.

Have a SP-8 running a B&M CYO at the front... after battery error on a Moon rear light I have decided to add a dynamo rear light as well. Curious what the best bang for my buck will be and how people run the wires with non-internal routing and manage to keep things tidy.

B&M Topline (brake) plus are good (I have a mini for a narrow rack) and I have a secula for a bike without a rear rack.
I've run the cables a couple of ways.- Spiraling around the top tube
- Spiraling around the down tube
- Run in parallel behind the rear hydro brake hose
Behind the hose has worked well and takes it to the rear dropout which was ideal for the mudguard mounted light.
- Spiraling around the top tube

Great! Thanks very much.
Thanks! I got a Triple + Tail Light incoming from Supernova. It's hard to get opinions from riders that had compared between models, a local friend also prefer's Supernova Triple over Edelux II.
