I saw the Beryl play last night; it really was excellent.
It mentioned that she set the 12 hour time trial record at 277.25 miles in 1967, and this record still holds today, for women. Which is slightly surprising considering improved engineering and nutrition etc over the last 50 years. I was curious as to whether there's been any attempts made on this record, but googling doesn't bring up anything. Anyone know?
