Spitfire will go a quite a bit more than 280 knots methinks. You can see that Concorde is close to but not actually at its approach (160kt) attitude, although in the picture here it's already pitched up further to actually land. An attribute of delta wings is the fairly extreme angles of attack required to maintain lift at low airspeeds. The Mach 2 BAC Lightning fighter also touched down at about 160 knots but without the Concorde's extreme pitch angle.
