• Is this normal? Just got my Ryde Pulse Sprint - Superstar hubs - CX Rays in the post. Several spokes on the front wheel are twisted - I know this isn't ok, can it be fixed or has the spoke been permanently damaged? Probably a maximum of 120º on any one spoke.

    The spokes on the rear cross over just after leaving the hub, but they bend around each other at an alarming angle. Is this correct for 2x lacing?

    I'm tempted to send them back right off the bat as with such a lightweight build any chance of poor building technique doesn't bode well, but they are a custom build, and Superstar Components customer service is not exactly known for being prompt and understanding.

    That's interlacing. See my earlier comments - it's traditional, but not strictly necessary.

  • Both sets of wheels with CX rays that Arup built for me look like that.
