Turns out there is a thread for unsuspecting things happening to posh cars >>
I only know that now as Oliver has reposted there :)

It's a very advanced form of littering, I suppose.

When I used to row down there soggy cars were a fairly regular occurrence but I never saw one float away like that.
Did once see, as the tide went out, a car emerge from the water, upside down, on the opposite bank.

A good friend of mine lost a bmw 3 series in this way. Perhaps the river likes taking bimmers in particular?

In the car: Witnessed some asshat blasting through amber while a cyclist tried to turn right on a junction with no filter light.
(people tend to turn on amber on those, of course you have no right of way, but amber also means stop and ppl should really know cyclists are squishy)No need for that sort of aggro. Which then makes me aggro, and adding to my bad reincarnation score ;)
Poor guy got given lots of room by driving in front of me overtaking/and me.

Happens about once a month in Putney. There's a FB group somewhere with the best of them...

Pleasant commute in not a lot of traffic. How nice is it now with the lighter mornings. One thing have they moved the second set of lights a few meters back on E&C as you come from Kennington?
Got a thumbs up from a white van driver after I commented on his choice of tunes at 07:20 in the morning banging rave.

Very, very few cyclists this morning coming in from way, way out SE. Where were you all?

Riding up the OKR, 2nd time on fixed this year. Spinning away on 48x15 :)

That'll be it: I was on Thames Path north of the river, popped over at Greenwich. The only two cyclists from SE London today...

Found an even nicer route over gravel hill, still not seen a soul using the cycle paths.

Yeah, the lights are further south, bigger gap between them and the traffic crossing east west which means many people get caught out and stuck so far forward they can't see the lights change

Full Beam Wankers everywhere tonight.

eerily empty roads on the way back including OKR!?

indeed, quite a laid back ride home today, with perhaps about 50% of the level of traffic I would have expected on my Holborn/Southwark Bridge/OKR/Brockley/Forest Hill route

Fairly common happening then :)
I like the line "the most expensive free parking in Richmond"

Shit I'm not parking down there again

I think this says something about BMW drivers/owners rather than the River being selective

Smashing ride this morning - thick freezing fog followed by sunshine and meeting YAL.

One of the best commute home last night for a while, again very light traffic saw my fav commuter for a while a guy who unclips both feet when coming up to red lights. Didn't enjoy E&C as they seem to be replacing the month old tarmac. Then bumped into a girl I've cycled with on my commute before but have no idea who she is, where we smashed it all the way from E&C to the top of the Brixton Hill, with the luck of nearly all the lights. Felt sick when I got home but it felt so good.
10/10

Must admit it caught me out as I was following the car in front as I couldn't see the lights with a Bus on my left and a van to my right. Got away it this time.
U-Boat commuter :)
probs wrong place, but some shady parking and the tide that waits for no man or BMW.
