  • I'm sure there's a thread for it somewhere... Can someone recommend a bike shop for servicing and just generally awesome customer service in Stoke Newington? I used to live in Dulwich and was very happy with Balfe's Bikes.

  • SBC cycles bit far? Red bike shop, hubvelo etc

  • If you can make it to Clapton, Hub Velo seemed very nice and knew what they were doing.

  • Red Bike Shop!

  • Welcome to Stoke Newington. You have a couple of options. Hub Vélo as already mentioned is a little further away (my local bike shop in Clapton), or SBC in Hoxton (featuring forumengers), but there are also PUSH in Newington Green (featuring forum OG Mike[trampsparadise]), Two Wheels Good in Church Street, Love Bikes in Church Walk, Bike Mech at the Castle Climbing Centre, Daycocks in Stoke Newington Road, and, erm, Halford's in Stoke Newington High Street. There's also the Hackney Pedlar at Hackney Downs Studios and About the Bike in Dalston Lane.

All currently known bike shops in Hackney here:

(I haven't listed the guys in the Community Bike Workshop in Well Street yet as I haven't managed to get down to talk to them.)

Where you decide to go will probably depend on how well you get on with the personnel. :) I've heard good things about all of them except for Halford's (about whom I haven't heard anything apart from the way in which Halford's is usually viewed).

  • Hub Velo are good and not just because they sponsor our fixie team.
