Cheers. Any idea which size I need? #helplessindividual

it might come with the frame. It might be a bolt on FD mount not shown in pic.
Or maybe not
In which case looks like 31.8.

That's what I thought but didn't want to waste 30 squid on the wrong thing.

What chainring bolts do I need for sugino track cranks? 6mm or 8mm?
Anyone?

Didn't even think of that - In my mind it just takes so long to build a frame that there's no other revenue stream. I see now that's not the case.

That article sparked my question - I have no idea what Rob English charges but I guessed it's more than 2k. Still seems like meagre earnings for massively skilled and specialist work.
@withered_preacher - yeah, you could, but that's £50,000 gross, not the net amount.

He also builds wheels which will bring in some more $$$

Because 45 degree stems that don't look like shit are hard to come by, and I like tig welded tubes. But also I'm confused why custom stems always seem to be £150+ when they're reasonably simple items.

You're confused about how simple they are. In terms of parts count, fitting and assembly and finishing, a stem is about as much work as fork

What's the track event where two riders sit and trackstand for ages at the start waiting for the other one to go first?
Is it the Match Sprint?

Clearly not, as under current match sprint rules the rider drawn on the inside must ride the first lap at walking pace or above, and trackstands are limited to 30s :-)

Could be 30.1
-
• #74893
If it's more than two riders, it could be the Longest Lap race they do in the Revolution series (and elsewhere). I've never seen it done with just two riders though, and as @mdcc_tester has pointed out, trackstands are limited to 30s in match sprints.

That is somewhat surprising. Still odd that there's nothing out there mass-produced, compared to the stacks of steel forks

Steel forks are cheaper than carbon.
There are some mass produced welded steel quill stems on Alibaba, but even there the saving compared with a forged aluminium AHead stem is of the order of $0.50. That matters when it's the difference between $0.50 and $1.00, but of no interest to bike manufacturers once they start targeting the >$100 RRP price point for a complete bicycle :-)

I'm sure there's a thread for it somewhere... Can someone recommend a bike shop for servicing and just generally awesome customer service in Stoke Newington? I used to live in Dulwich and was very happy with Balfe's Bikes.

That being the case, why custom?
