I think I will just get the seatclamp purple and maybe 1 chainring bolt. Keep headset black and finishing kit silver ..
Would probably keep the seat clamp and headset the same colour? Purple clamp, headset and hubs might work; keep the coloured bits small.
Have you decided on rim colour? Since you're going to use a brake might I suggest silver, to avoid that ugly silver brake track on dark rims.

Yeah I am thinking just the headset and seat clamp.
Wheels likely DT R 460, silver spokes and nipples.

Shallow carbon clinchers laced with Ti spokes or GTFO

Carbon was on my mind but those DT rims will do for now ;)
Ritchey classic stem now has the weird C260 faceplate design that will make changing bars a ball ache .. X2?

Good find! Thats the 'old' much easier design.
Most likely 110mm+
Will ride with 110 and 120mm I have and determine the length.

Id go black finishing kit, zipp or fizik. Silver should be for quill, steel forks and skinny tube type builds.
Also silver 75DDs are pretty difficult to get in the UK for a decent price (you can order from Japan but it costs a fortune). Just get the black without chainring from Dolan; £210 iirc

I was still at Tokyo when this was made - it's Colossi but made 'upstairs' by their proper framebuilders, as it was the prototype for the 'posh dart' which never really got beyond the drawing board. Spirit throughout iirc and well nice. Painted to match a kit that NKD designed at the same time.
IMO - all black everything, maybe Deda carbon finishing kit, deep carbon rims and cx rays, S75DD with a purple AARN if possible. Hubs, headset and clamp will look great but don't go much further with it... don't get anodised spokes, for example. definitely don't do that.

srsly though why are people saying 25mm deep? wtf is 25mm? 60mm carbon. 25mm wide.
-
• #45
that's what current projects is for though, right? build by committee, purchased by the individual. It's like bizzaro-world kickstarter.

Yep Spirit throughout. Welds dont look 'cheap' colossi imo.
If black then it will be aliexpress seatpost, kalloy acetoned stem, Ritchey neo classic bars. I'll keep dribblin with finishing kit (minus bars) if I find something I like. Already have all of that minus the bars so i'll see how it looks.
Carbon might happen but not at this point. Wheels are final DT R 460 + mack superlight + silver spokes and nipples.
The hunt of S75DD in silver continues. Might get some 75's with black chainring in the meantime. Who does black chainring bolts?

I've never ridden fixed without brakes .. might give it a go initially and see but I want to go in proper lanes on this too.

We made a prototype road frame called the Ram at the same time, it was all spirit or XCR and fucking lush, extremely gnarly goat+pentagram decals. I think Darren the messenger / taxi driver has it now.
Pity that company was such a mess, there were some great ideas floating around.
